Faculty position in cosmology group at KASI (CosKASI)

Post by Yong-Seon Song » January 29 2016

The cosmology group at the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI), Daejeon, Korea (hereafter CosKASI) invites applications for a tenured faculty position in cosmology. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research involves cosmic large scale structure formation to probe the initial condition of the universe and/or the nature of cosmic acceleration. The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Physics, Astrophysics or Astronomy. The candidate is expected to establish a broad, internationally competitive, and well-recognized research program and contribute to graduate student education.

CosKASI (http://cosmology.kasi.re.kr/index.html) is consistently growing and is active in various fields of cosmology including observational cosmology, primordial inflation, cosmological perturbation, large scale structure and dark energy. Our group at KASI is a member of major wide-deep field surveys such as eBOSS and DESI (and soon LSST) and has close connections to other KASI survey involvements including KMTnet, JCMT, ALMA and GMT. CosKASI offers excellent research facilities and an international environment, where English is the working language.

In order to receive full consideration, applicants should submit their CV, a list of publications, and a statement of research interests to [Log in to view email] no later than March 14 of 2016. Applicants should also arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to the same address by that date. Those who have strong backgrounds in astrophysics, observational cosmology and theoretical cosmology are encouraged to apply. Direct inquiries to: Dr. Yong-Seon Song, [Log in to view email].
