The Helsinki Institute of Physics (HIP) at the University of Helsinki invites applications for one postdoctoral fellowship in cosmology starting in 2014.
HIP combines particle physics and cosmology, and cosmology staff include Kari Enqvist, Hannu Kurki-Suonio and Syksy Räsänen. We are involved in the Planck and Euclid missions. On the particle physics side, theory and phenomenology staff include Katri Huitu, Oleg Lebedev and Kari Rummukainen, and experimental staff include Paula Eerola, who participates in the CMS experiment at the LHC. We work closely with the Division of Elementary Particle Physics at the Department of Physics, and also increasingly collaborate with the astrophysics groups of Peter Johansson and Alexis Finuguenov at the Department of Geophysics and Astronomy; Finoguenov is involved in the BOSS and CODEX surveys.
The appointment is for two years, with a possible extension for a third year, depending on performance and funding. The usual starting date is October 1, but earlier appointment is possible. The salary is 40 000 euros/year, plus funds for travel expenses.
Letters of application (including CV, list of publications and a brief statement of research interests - as a single pdf) and three recommendation letters should be submitted via the webpage http://hep.physics.helsinki.fi/postdoct ... cosmology/ . A direct link to the upload form, without the text of the call, is http://theory.physics.helsinki.fi/~applications2/ .
Enquiries can be made to syksy dot rasanen at helsinki dot fi. The deadline for applications and recommendation letters is December 15.
