Dear all,
To follow up on recent discussions, Kolb et al. posted this web note today on astro-ph.
I have to admit that I am getting a bit lost with this succession of papers arguing for or against backreaction as the source of cosmic acceleration...
Cheers,
-Aurelien.

[astro-ph/0511073] Comments on Backreaction and Cosmic Accel
As far as I understand, you can safely ignore all claims of significant back-reaction so far. They are either invalid (small scale ones), or cannot mimic dark energy
(large scale ones).
I think the main idea is not yet ruled out, but is very unlikely. You can have a look at my talk on backreaction at MPA in:
http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/~nafshordi/i ... age482.htm
(large scale ones).
