Line-Intensity mapping (LIM) is a novel technique to map cosmological volumes which allows to access unexplored regimes and unique cosmological and astrophysical information. This invaluable potential comes along with observational and theoretical challenges that will need to be addressed to fulfill the promise of LIM. With the first measurements already coming around, it is crucial to reassess the current status of LIM and the roadmap for the forthcoming years.

The workshop “Present and Future of Line-Intensity Mapping”, which will take place on April 18-21 at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics, in Garching, Germany, will cover the study of the final stages of reionization, cosmic noon and low redshift with LIM (i.e., z <~ 10). Special emphasis will be put on the challenges (instrumental, observational and theoretical) that need to be addressed to fulfill LIM's potential and turn this technique into a mature cosmological and astrophysical probe.

There will be sessions covering current and forthcoming experiments and LIM measurements, the modeling of the connection to astrophysics and the summary statistics of the line-intensity maps, synergies between different lines and other cosmological and astrophysical probes, and future science cases.
