Postdoctoral Researchers in Theoretical Cosmology
Institute of Cosmology & Gravitation
University of Portsmouth

Reference: RTEC0058
Closing Date: 2 JANUARY 2008
Start date: 1 OCTOBER 2008

The Institute of Cosmology & Gravitation (ICG) at the University of Portsmouth intends to appoint up to 2 postdoctoral researchers in theoretical cosmology funded by an STFC rolling grant. A PhD degree and relevant research experience are required. The post is for three years, starting 1 OCTOBER 2008 (or earlier by agreement). The rolling grant programme covers cosmological perturbations, probing dark energy with structure formation, geometrical tests of cosmological models, and braneworld models of inflation and dark energy.

The ICG consists of 10 academic staff, 12 postdoctoral researchers and 19 PhD students, and is a member of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, the Dark Energy Survey and the UK National Cosmology Supercomputer Consortium (COSMOS). The researcher will have access to these resources, as well as multi-processor machines at the ICG. More information is available at http://www.icg.port.ac.uk/ with more specific details at http://www.icg.port.ac.uk/archive/1031.htm

An on-line application form is available at [Log in to view email]), quoting the post reference number RTEC0058.

Applications (application form, CV, research statement, names of 3 referees) should be sent by email to [Log in to view email] and copied to [Log in to view email]. Applicants should also arrange for three letters of reference to be sent by email to [Log in to view email], to arrive by the closing date, 2 JANUARY 2008. Late applications may be considered
