postdoc advertisement at Perimeter Institute

Post by Constantinos Skordis » October 09 2006

Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics invites applications for
postdoctoral positions beginning in the Fall of 2007. We have existing
strengths in the areas of quantum gravity, string theory, quantum
information theory, cosmology and foundations of quantum theory.
We will consider applications in all of these areas. Exceptional applicants in related areas,
such as elementary particle physics and condensed matter physics, are
encouraged to apply. The postdoctoral positions are normally for a period of three years.
Outstanding candidates may also be considered for a senior
postdoctoral position with a five-year term.

If you are interested in applying for these postdoctoral positions, you must
apply online at:

https://perimeterinstitute.ca/positions ... pplication

The deadline for postdoctoral applications is NOVEMBER 15, 2006.

As well as completing a short general information form, the online application
will require your curriculum vitae, list of publications, and a statement of
research interests, prepared as postscript, PDF, Word or plain text files.
You will also have to arrange to have at least three letters of reference sent to
Perimeter Institute. There will be an automated e-mail response to your
submission; please, do not apply more than once!

Perimeter Institute is located in Waterloo, Canada, and opened in September
2001 as an independent institute supporting research in foundational areas
of theoretical physics. We are currently staffed with 64 resident researchers
including ten faculty, and eight associate members. Currently, we also have a
complement of 31 postdoctoral researchers and a very active visitor program
including 15 long term visitors with expectations of hosting some 300
scientists throughout this academic year. Further details on the research
activity at Perimeter can be found at:
