David Schramm Fellowship in Fermilab''s Theoretical Astrophy

Post by dan hooper » August 25 2006

The Fermilab Theoretical Astrophysics invites applications for The David N. Schramm Fellowship. Applicants should have an excellent research record in cosmology/theoretical astrophysics. This postdoctoral research fellowship will be awarded for a period of five years. In addition to a competitive salary, the position includes ample funds for travel and other research expenses.

The Theoretical Astrophysics Group has a wide range of interests in cosmology, including numerical modeling of galaxy formation, theories of the early Universe and their connections to particle physics, large-scale structure and evolution, dark matter and dark energy, ultra-high energy cosmic rays, neutrino astrophysics, and other topics in particle astrophysics. Currently the staff members are Scott Dodelson, Joshua Frieman, Nick Gnedin, and Albert Stebbins. The group works in close collaboration with the experimental astrophysics pgrogram and the Particle Theory group at Fermilab and with the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Chicago. All applicants for the Schramm Fellowship will also be considered automatically for a two-year postdoctoral Research Associate position. Interested applicants should, before December 1, 2006, email a cirriculum vitae (including a statement of research interests), and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to [Log in to view email], (or by postal mail to Postdoc Search Committee, c/o Dan Hooper, Theoretical Astrophysics, MS209, Fermilab, PO Box 500, Batavia, IL 60510 USA).
