Postdoctoral Fellowship in Theoretical Cosmology at Case Western Reserve University

Post by glenn d starkman » December 29 2021

The Theoretical Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology group at Case Western Reserve University anticipates offering the Richard S. Morrison Post-Doctoral (Term) Fellowship, open to theoretical cosmologists.

The position is expected to start October 1, 2022 (earlier/later start dates may be negotiated). Applications containing a CV, publication list, statement of research interests and three letters of recommendation should be submitted through Academic Jobs Online at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/fellowship/20769. If electronic submission is not possible, paper applications may be submitted to "Richard Morrison Post-Doctoral Fellowship Search c/o G. Starkman," Department of Physics, Case Western Reserve University, 10900 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44106-7079 USA. Review of applications will commence on a rolling basis on Jan 2, 2022. The position will be open until filled. Please keep this in mind when submitting application materials, as we expect this to occur in advance of the posted deadline.

Information about the research interests of the Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology group can be found on the Department of Physics webpage. Questions regarding the position may be directed to Glenn Starkman at [Log in to view email]. The successful applicant is likely to be interested in a focused collaboration with him, the current Morrison Fellow, Yashar Arkami, and colleagues at CWRU, Imperial College London, the University of Pittsburgh, and the Institute for Theoretical Physics (IFT Madrid) on cosmic topology, CMB anomalies and other large-scale properties of the Universe. Candidates with expertise in Machine Learning and/or other advanced numerical techniques are particularly encouraged to apply. We expect that a third year of funding will be available through the IFT, and that candidates will have the opportunity of extended residencies there.

In employment, as in education, Case Western Reserve University is committed to Equal Opportunity and Diversity.
