The Physics Department at Northeastern University seeks a postdoctoral fellow in cosmology. Applicants with a range of interests in theoretical and observational cosmology are encouraged to apply, as are applicants who bring a non-traditional perspective in their research experience or personal background. In addition to collaborating with Prof. Jonathan Blazek, the fellow will be encouraged to pursue an independent research program.
Northeastern is a vibrant research university in central Boston, benefiting from connections between departments and with several surrounding institutions. The Physics Department has strong research programs in theoretical and experimental particle physics and a growing astrophysics/cosmology group. Northeastern is part of the newly formed NSF AI Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Fundamental Interactions (https://iaifi.org/), which will provide an exciting venue for collaboration across several area institutions, and the successful candidate will be encouraged to explore all available connections.

The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, or a relevant field by the start date. A start in Summer or Fall 2021 is preferred. The position is for two years, with the possibility of a third year dependent on performance and the availability of funding.

Salary and benefits: In addition to a competitive salary and benefits package, the position will come with research funds for travel and computing as well as access to the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center.
