We are offering several postdoc positions at our institute in the framework of the María de Maeztu Units of Excellence Program ([Log in to view email]) directly for additional information. The third position listed below is the one which specifically seeks candidates to work on dark matter.


General information about the IFCA María de Maeztu multi-disciplinary call:

The Instituto de Física de Cantabria (IFCA) invites applications for seven postdoctoral and/or engineering positions to attract international talent in the following research areas:

AGN X-ray Astronomy: (postdoc) to work on the scientific definition of Athena, particularly for extragalactic surveys and AGN.
HL-LHC: (postdoctoral or engineering) to work on the development of detectors (TPSD) at the High Luminosity Hadron collider.
CMB Polarization: (postdoctoral or engineering) to work on microwave instrumentation and /or data analysis for CMB experiments
EOSC: (postdoctoral or engineering) to work on implementing advanced computing techniques in the European Open Science Cloud.
CORDEX: (postdoc) data science for regional climate projections and climate services
Dark Universe: (postdoc) the hidden nature/constituents of the universe, exploiting synergies between Astrophysics and particle physics.
Data Science: (postdoctoral or engineering) to work on data Science techniques applied to Big Data in Open Science

Contract details.
Salary: Starting at 34100 EUR and up to 41600 EUR (with additional funds for travelling expenses)
Duration of the contract: Up to 3 years
Starting Date: Negotiable.
Deadline for the application: Position will remain open until filled. First applications will be reviewed on June 1st 2019

2) A research statement (maximum three pages in length) describing your previous research experience, and your future plans.
