Posted: November 30 2016
by Eduard Thommes
The particle physics and cosmology division of the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Heidelberg invites applications for postdoctoral positions in theoretical physics.
The positions are expected to be filled in the fall of 2017.
The appointment is for a period of two years. (Later extension to three years possible.)
The particle physics and cosmology division consists of the faculty members
Prof. L. Amendola, Prof. J. Berges, Prof. A. Hebecker, Prof. J. Jaeckel, Prof. J. Pawlowski, Prof. T. Plehn, Prof. T. Weigand, Prof. C. Wetterich and Prof J. Walcher as a partner of the Mathematical Institute.
Junior research group leader at our Institute include Dr. A. Eichhorn, Dr. F. Flörchinger, Dr. A. Rothkopf and Jun.-Prof. S. Westhoff.
In addition, several associated professors, about 15 junior scientists and postdocs, and 25 postgraduate students work at the institute.
The division runs a lively international visitor program.
The research covers a wide range of topics in particle theory, including in particular particle-cosmology, particle phenomenology,
quantum chromodynamics, physics beyond the standard model, quantum gravity, string theory, non-perturbative and non-equilibrium quantum field theory, including applications to ultracold quantum gases.
