Postdoctoral position in theoretical cosmology at Sussex, cl

Post by Andrew Liddle » March 14 2011

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Sussex in the field of theoretical cosmology. Faculty members Mark Hindmarsh, Antony Lewis, Andrew Liddle and David Seery lead our research in this area. We are seeking a talented and creative cosmologist with demonstrated outstanding intellectual contributions to research at doctoral or post-doctoral level, to contribute to our research programme. Particular research areas of interest include physics of the early Universe, cosmological inflation, constraining cosmological models with data including cosmic microwave background anisotropies, and the nature of dark energy. The candidate will also be expected to assist in the teaching and supervision of students in the group, and there may be opportunities for broader interaction within the Astronomy Centre and Theoretical Particle Physics group.

Informal enquiries relating to this post may be addressed to Prof Andrew Liddle ([Log in to view email]).

Closing date for applications: 30 April 2011

The position is fixed-term full-time for 2 years. There may be possibilities for extension depending on funding availability. Expected start date from 1 October 2011 or as soon as possible thereafter

To apply, and for further details, see http://www.sussex.ac.uk/Units/staffing/ ... c207.shtml
Applications must be sent directly to the Sussex Human Resources Division, by e-mail or post as described there. In addition to the application form you are encouraged to submit a CV/research proposal. When applying you should nominate academic referees, but do not need to ask them to send letters at that point.
