Joint post-doctoral position in Particle Astrophysics and Co

Post by Marco Cirelli » December 05 2007

The Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris (IAP) and the Service de Physique Theorique of CEA at Saclay (SPhT) invite applications for a joint post-doctoral position, starting in Fall 2008.
The successful candidate is expected to carry out a vigorous research program at the interface between Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology, and to interact with members of both institutions, in particular of the IAP theory group (whose permanent members include: G Bertone, L Blanchet, G Esposito-Farese, G Faye, D Israël, P Peter, M Lemoine, J Martin and J-Ph Uzan) and of the SPhT (Francis Bernardeau, Philippe Brax, Marco Cirelli, Stephane Lavignac, Carlos Savoy, Patrick Valageas, Filippo Vernizzi).

The appointment is for two years, and it will entail a competitive salary and reasonable travel funds. The position is funded by the "Physique des 2 Infinis" consortium, a joint research funding body of CNRS, CEA, Universities of Paris VI, VII, XI, Ecole Polytechnique and the Observatory of Paris.

Applications are due January 13, 2008 (late applications may be considered until the position has been filled), and should include a cover letter, a full CV with list of publications, a short research statement as well as 3 letters of reference to be sent confidentially by three referees. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. The application material should be sent to one of the following addresses:

Gianfranco Bertone,

or

Marco Cirelli

Email applications are strongly preferred (please specify "P2I postdoc" in the subject line).

Candidates who are currently applying for other postdoctoral positions at IAP or SPhT should email bertone.AT.iap.fr or marco.cirelli.AT.cea.fr, but are not required to send duplicate documents and letters.
