Postdoctoral position in LSST/DESC

Post by Dominique Boutigny » April 09 2018

The Laboratoire d'Annecy de Physique des Particules (CNRS/IN2P3 - LAPP) has an immediate opening for a post-doctoral research position in cosmology.

The postdoc will join a cosmology team based at both Annecy (LAPP) and Grenoble (LPSC) and will work within the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope project (LSST) and the Dark Energy Science Collaboration (DESC). Our team is working on image processing and treatment of large datasets; cluster weak lensing data analysis; and phenomenological aspects of the weak lensing probes. We are also involved in the ambitious Data Challenges of the DESC collaboration. Applicants may choose to preferentially develop their research project in the context of the existing activities of the
group listed above.

The candidate should have a strong background in cosmology, ideally with experience in galaxy clusters, weak lensing and/or analysis of photometric datasets. Strong computational skills would also be a significant asset.

The position is available immediately for a period of 18 to 24 months depending on the starting date. The salary will depend on the working experience of the selected postdoc.

The evaluation of the applications (a single pdf file with cover letter, CV including publications, research statement, email addresses of three people who can provide letters of recommendation) will start immediately, and will continue until the position is filled. The application documents as well as further questions shall be directed to Dominique Boutigny, [Log in to view email].
