How should the topics be grouped together?

Post by Sarah Bridle » October 30 2004

Hi,
I was wondering if the current organisation of the forums could be improved.
I find the non-organised list of topics in the astroph forum a bit without focus.
The discussions on cmb/lss etc aren't used much.

So how about replacing
astroph
...
gr-qc
..
cmb
lss

with just subject areas, and sorting the astroph topics into these areas?
ie. all the discussion about cmb (whether linked to astroph papers or not) would be together etc. Instead of going to the astroph forum you would go to eg. the CMB forum.

Or maybe this big upheaval isn't worth the hassle?

Hi

I like the current form. The problem is, while some papers are clearly in one subject others
might not be so well defined. For instance do you put SZ in CMB ?
Maybe one can have more categories whi ch link (like cross-referencing in the archives)
to the main topics in astro-ph ?

Cheers
Jochen
