Would it be possible to allow gmail addresses, which many people use, on our accounts? Thanks

It is much easier if people use academic email addresses, as they can be mostly authenticated automatically.

Thx for your quick reply Antony. I was also thinking of retirees or people who have moved to a non-academic day job after working in academia a number of years (such as myself), whilst still contributing (albeit less) to the field. In my instance, I have a visiting position at a university but that may not always be the case (hence no academic email)

Anyhow, a first world problem, probably, and it's up to CosmoCoffee moderators to decide how to run the site (obviously), but I just thought I'd highlight the issue.
