CosmoMC: one question regarding LUQAS Lyman alpha

Post by Bo Feng » May 30 2006

Hi, Antony,

This is indeed a sequel to the previous post

http://cosmocoffee.info/viewtopic.php?t=504

I am aware that fittings to Lyman alpha should typically be complicated and in the most strict way one should run a hydro simulation each time rather than a naive interpolation. Anyway being merely a user of CosmoMC my question is: given the LUQAS Lyman alpha code in cosmoMC, should one introduce additional bias factor or not? Maybe you have already implied your answer last time that additional bias is not necesssary, anyway I am not sure of it. As you said for SDSS Lyman alpha additional bias factors are not necessary and I am just not quite certain about the other sample. Thanks in advance!

The lya.f90 module for LUQAS (not compiled by default) includes a numerical marginalization over the 'bias' parameter.
