Extracting the likelihood function with cobaya

Post by Helena Garcia » February 08 2022

I would like to know if it is possible to extract the likelihood function for the best fit value of a converged chain with cobaya. I haven't found any information in the documentation and would like to know if it's possible. Thank you in advanced!

Not sure what you are asking. GetDist can report the best-fit sample likelihood value.

I would like to extract the likelihood function in order to compare the minimization result I'm obtaining using the BOBQYA method implemented in minimizer sampler of cobaya with a different one. The results I'm getting are not consistent as when I increase the degrees of freedom of my chains (I'm running nested models) the models get worse. GetDist can report the best-fit sample likelihood value but I need a function. Do you know if I can obtain this function?

You can call the likelihood with the parameters of the best-fit point if that's what you mean.
