software to calculate chi-squared, and plot likelihood and confidence region

I need a program to compute chi squared, and plot likelihood and confidence region for my problem.
A typical calculation I need to do can be found in the following papers:

You can find a set of mathematica codes that does what you want here:

The code was used to generate all the figs etc in 0908.2636 . I cannot provide step by step instructions on how to use or modify the code for your project but I would be glad to answer any questions. Finally, some familiarity with Mathematica is assumed.

If you want to use the full WMAP data and not just the shift parameters, you should use cosmomc instead.
