CosmoMC: Combined analysis of SDSS and 2dFGRS

Dear all,
Is it safe to combine the LSS data of SDSS and 2dFGRS in cosmomc as WMAP group did in their Fig 10 of astro-ph/0603449?
I doubt this since these two datasets are not exactly independent.
