Fundamental Physics from Clusters of Galaxies

Fundamental Physics from Clusters of Galaxies
Dec. 9-11, 2004
Center for Particle Astrophysics, Fermilab

To celebrate the inception of Fermilab's new Center for
Particle Astrophysics, we are hosting a workshop on
fundamental physics from clusters of galaxies. The workshop
aims to understand what we can learn about dark energy, dark
matter, neutrinos, structure formation, gas physics and about
fundamental physics in general from clusters of galaxies.
Current and upcoming experiments will measure clusters via
optical light, weak and strong gravitational lensing, X-ray
emission, the Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effect, and more. These
measurements will enable us to extract the mass function and
clustering properties of clusters, providing the key links to
cosmological parameters.
