Postdoc in Observational Cosmology at Caltech

Post by William Jones » October 18 2006

The California Institute of Technology invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Observational Cosmology Group. The program of research will include the development and integration of novel instrumentation for observations of the polarization anisotropy of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB), in particular preparation for the flight of the Spider experiment. Spider is a balloon borne, multi-frequency observatory that will measure the CMB temperature and polarization anisotropy on the largest scales. The successful applicant will be deeply engaged in both the experimental and analysis efforts. In addition to Spider, the Observational Cosmology Group is actively involved in the BICEP and QUaD experiments at the South Pole, as well as the High Frequency Instrument on Planck.

Applications will be considered beginning November 1, 2006, and will remain open until filled. For more information about the position, please contact Bill Jones (wcj at astro.caltech.edu).
