Cosmology postdoc, University of Heidelberg

Post by Valeria Pettorino » May 28 2014

The Institute for Theoretical Physics, University of Heidelberg, Germany, invites applications for one or two postdoctoral positions in cosmology starting as soon as possible. Both positions are limited to 1 year, with the possibility of renewal depending on funding availability and on successful work of the applicant.

You would be part of the cosmology group of the Institute for Theoretical Physics (groups of Prof. L. Amendola, Prof. C. Wetterich and Dr. V. Pettorino).

The postdocs are expected to work on topics of interest for the cosmology group with preference for non-linear methods, dark universe, modified gravity, large-scale structure, cross correlations and CMB. Outstanding applications will be considered in any relevant area of cosmology. Neighboring institutes here at Heidelberg include the Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics, the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy and the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS).

Currently, the cosmology group consists of about 20 people, six of which postdocs and several PhD students.

This positions are financed within the Transregio TRR33 program and are in addition to the usual ones expected in Fall.

For more information on the cosmology group and the institute, see http://www.thphys.uni-heidelberg.de/~cosmo/
