Postdoctoral/non-permanent faculty positions in the cosmolog

Post by Yong-Seon Song » October 08 2013

Applications are invited for Postdoctoral Research/Non-permanent Faculty Positions in the cosmology group at Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute.

Major goals of the group are cosmological research into the nature of the cosmic acceleration, the early universe, redshift space distortions probing the growth of structure, infrared modified gravity and dark matter. Our group is a member of major wide-deep field surveys such as DESI, LSST, KMTnet and ALMA. We are particularly interested in young researchers who will get involved in theory, data, and simulations for DESI but excellent candidates in any research area mentioned will be considered.

Current faculty members include Eric Linder (visiting fellow), Hyerim Noh and Yong-Seon Song, with another faculty member working on dark matter science joining in December 2013, and another is anticipated in the near future. A description of the group and its research is at http://cosmology.kasi.re.kr/ .

The nominal starting date is September 1, 2014, but earlier or later appointments are possible. The postdoctoral positions are for two years, renewable for a third year. Exceptionally qualified candidates will be considered for a non-permanent faculty position renewable every year up to five years.

Applicants should submit cv, publication list, and research statement as a single PDF to [Log in to view email] , and arrange three reference letters to be sent separately by referees to [Log in to view email] . The submission deadline is December 9, 2013.
