ESSENTIAL COSMOLOGY FOR THE NEXT GENERATION
(also known as Cosmology on the Beach)
* January 16−20, 2012 in Cancun, Mexico *
The Conference website and Participant Application form is now available at http://bccp.lbl.gov/beach_program/index2012.html
This meeting is the 4th annual edition, following the very successful and popular 2009, 2010, 2011 conferences. A range of topics in cosmology will be covered at the conference by eminent scholars in the field, with elements of both a winter school and the latest research results. Course lectures are blended with recent research advances in plenary talks, and student/postdoc participation through discussions, posters, and contributed talks. We encourage a diverse group of advanced graduate students and postdocs interested in attending to apply; this year we will also be admitting established researchers enthusiastic about interacting.
LECTURE COURSES:
Cliff Burgess, Effective Field Theory and Cosmology
Andrew Connolly, Large Cosmology Surveys
Tiziana Di Matteo, From Black Holes to the Universe Simulations
Neal Katz, Galaxy Formation
HOT RESEARCH TALKS:
Jorge Cervantes-Cota, Dark Degeneracy
Michael Turner, How to Become a Cosmologist
Michael Turner, The End of the Universe
tba
Organized by the Berkeley Center for Cosmological Physics and Instituto Avanzado de Cosmologia, Mexico.
