Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Sussex in the field of computational cosmology. Faculty members Ilian Iliev and Peter Thomas lead our research in this area. We are seeking a talented and creative simulator with demonstrated outstanding intellectual contributions to research at doctoral or post-doctoral level, to contribute to our research programme. Particular research areas of interest include physics of reionization, galaxy and large-scale structure formation, astrophysical gas dynamics, radiative transfer and feedback. Parallel computing experience is a plus. The candidate will also be expected to assist in the teaching and supervision of students in the group, and there may be opportunities for broader interaction within the Astronomy Centre and Theoretical Particle Physics group.

Informal enquiries relating to this post may be addressed to Prof. Peter Thomas ([Log in to view email]). The Astronomy Centre web-pages can be found atwww.sussex.ac.uk/astronomy/

Sussex provides an intellectually outstanding and supportive working environment. Thomson Scientific recently ranked the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Sussex top in the UK for its research impact.
