1st Paris-Berkeley Dark Energy Cosmology workshop
14-18 September 2009
APC and LPNHE in Paris, France

We are pleased to announce the 1st workshop of the Berkeley Center
for Cosmological Physics and Paris APC and LPNHE Cosmology groups
on September 14-18, 2009. The 5 day workshop will be jointly hosted
by the Laboratoire Astroparticule et Cosmologie (APC) at the
University Denis Diderot (Paris 7) and Laboratoire de Physique
Nucleaire et des Hautes Energies (LPNHE) at the University
Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6).

The workshop is open to researchers from all institutions, although
the total number of participants is limited to 50. The evening
session of invited talks, focused talks, and discussion will also be
available for remote viewing and possibly remote interaction. The general
agenda plan is given below.

The program focuses on detailed discussions for insights into the
nature of dark energy, cosmology, and fundamental physics from
current and future experiments. To permit a productive depth of
discussion, this workshop concentrates on the use of supernovae
and baryon acoustic oscillations as cosmological probes, although
other techniques will be included. Key topics for working discussions
will be developments, in progress and still needed, in systematics
control and observations, and areas of complementarity for ground
and space based observations.

General Agenda:

1030-1530 Working groups, including time for contributed talks, working lunch
1630-1900 Talks and Discussion with videoconferencing

This is the first announcement. To express interest in attending,
request to give a talk, and for further details, please see

Deadline for application is July 14; the 50 participants will be notified by July 30.
Registration fee will be 100 euros; some support for needy students and postdocs
will be available.
