Forecasting with CosmoMC

Post by Jenny Martin » May 24 2016

As part of some course work I want to do a forecast using CosmoMC. So far I was able to set up CosmoMC. I do not have to change anything in CosmoMC as I just want to do a forecast for the standard model.
Now I am wondering how to create the dataset that I will then use to sample. (Note that I am new to all this.) I would like to assume cosmic variance limited observation of the power spectrum of either only temperature or temperature and polarization up to given multipoles. These multipoles could maybe be chosen differently for temperature and polarization. I saw makePerfectForecastDataset.py, but do not really know if this is what I want (and how to set all those parameters).

Any help and suggestions on how to do this properly are appreciated (also to external documents)! Thanks!
