cosmomc for future experiment

Post by Davide Maino » June 18 2014

Hi Antony, I would like to run some chains for future CMB experiments (also for Planck including polarisations). My question is multi-fold. Firstly to generate such ideal data set should I use the makePerfect...py python code?
Secondly I presume that I have to tune a bit the params limit in order to cope
with the improved sensitivity of future experiments. Do you have any idea/clue/suggestion on how to handle this aspect?

I tried with a simple standard LCDM model with fake planck data set (fwhm=7.1 arc min and NoiseVar=7.5e-4). I found an acceptance ratio around 23-30 % but I see that, for example omegabh2 goes clearly towards larger
values.

I know I'm confused.
Thanks
Davide

Yes, you can use that script, though probably not much tested recently. You may beed to decrease parameter propose widths slightly for anything much better than Planck, but it would probably work anyway. Small biases in e.g. omegabh2 could be inconsistencies e.g. in Helium fraction, neutrino mass and other CAMB settings, larger baises must be a bigger problem.
