The Physics Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory invites applications for a postdoctoral position as Research Associate in astrophysics/cosmology. This position requires a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physics or astronomy. A strong background in cosmology is required and a focus on data analysis or N-body simulations is preferred, but all exceptional candidates will be considered. The successful candidate will have access to the data from surveys and to extensive large-scale computing and technical resources. This position comes with competitive salary and benefits.

Brookhaven National Laboratory is developing a program in cosmology, following a long tradition of strength in particle and nuclear physics. The focus of the nascent group is exploration of dark energy and other related fundamental physical phenomena. The program includes near-term cosmology projects BOSS and DES, as well as the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST). Three new hires in cosmology have joined Brookhaven in the last year. Brookhaven is a member of the LSST collaboration and is the center for developing the CCD array for the telescope.
