Observational Cosmology Postdoctoral Position

The Institute of Cosmology & Gravitation (ICG) at the University of
Portsmouth intends to appoint a postdoctoral researcher in observational
cosmology. A PhD degree and relevant research experience are required. The
post is for three years, starting 1 OCTOBER 2008 (or earlier by
agreement). The researcher will work on observational studies of dark
energy, with a particular focus on using baryon acoustic oscillations
within galaxy surveys.

The ICG consists of 10 academic staff, 12 postdoctoral researchers and 19
PhD students, and is a member of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (both
SDSS-II and SDSS-III), the Dark Energy Survey, the UK Low Frequency Array
Consortium and the UK National Cosmology Supercomputer Consortium
(COSMOS). The researcher will have access to these resources, as well as
multi-processor machines at the ICG. More information is available at
