Postdoc Positions at Heidelberg University

Post by Michael Doran » October 24 2005

The Institute for Theoretical Physics, University of Heidelberg,
Germany, invites applications for several postdoctoral positions in cosmology
and theoretical astrophysics. Traditionally, postdocs at Heidelberg
enjoy great freedom in pursuing their research independently or in
collaboration with faculty, postdocs and students. Neighboring
institutes here at Heidelberg include the Institute for Theoretical
Astrophysics and the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy. One of
the positions will be focused on dark energy and funded by
the Max-Planck research prize for C. Wetterich.

Faculty at our institute working on cosmology include Arthur Hebecker
(Physics beyond the Standard Model, Cosmology), Michael G. Schmidt
(Physics beyond the Standard Model, Cosmology, Field Theory) and
Christof Wetterich (Cosmology, Renormalization Group Equations,
Physics beyond the Standard Model). For more information on the
cosmology group and the institute, see http://www.thphys.uni-heidelberg.de/~cosmo/

The salary is from EURO 38500-52000 pa depending on age, marital
status and number of children. Appointments are for two years, with
possible extensions. Applicants should send a curriculum vitae,
bibliography and statement of research interests, and arrange to have
three letters of recommendation sent to:
