The Department of Physics at Carnegie Mellon University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Physics working in Theoretical Particle Physics. Higher ranks may be considered for exceptional candidates. This is a tenure-track position and the successful candidate will be expected develop an independent research program and to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
We seek highly qualified applicants with outstanding research credentials in high-energy theory and extensive knowledge of quantum field theory. Preference will be given to applicants whose research will support the activities of our Bruce and Astrid McWilliams Center for Cosmology by exhibiting a specific interest in beyond-standard model physics, astroparticle physics as well as the problem of the nature of dark matter.
