1st Announcement

DUEL International Conference
"10 Years of Cosmic Shear"

18th−23rd July 2010

2010 marks the tenth anniversary of the detection of Cosmic Shear. To
celebrate this, and to showcase the latest results from recent surveys as well
as setting the agenda for Gravitational Lensing over the next 10 years, we are
holding an International Conference on Gravitational Lensing in Edinburgh.

The meeting is sponsored by the DUEL (Dark Universe with Extragalactic
Lensing) European Community Research Training Network (a FP6 Marie
Curie Action), and the University of Edinburgh.

Topics will include:
1. Cosmic Shear
2. Cluster lensing
3. Strong lensing
4. Galaxy-galaxy lensing
5. CMB lensing
6. Simulating Weak Lensing Surveys
7. Dark Energy, Dark Matter and Alternative Gravity

Accommodation
A block booking of suitable accommodation is held until 15 January 2010.

Contributing Talks
There will be 8 review talks and space for around 20 contributing
talks, of 20 minutes duration. Conference participants can offer
talks and posters when they register.

Conference dinner
The conference dinner will be held in Edinburgh Castle and costs
an additional £60. There is a smart dress code for dinner.

Public Talk by Prof. Malcolm Longair
There will be an evening reception and public talk by
Prof. Malcolm Longair.

The conference programme will be updated closer to the meeting.

The conference fee is £150 until the end of April 2010, and then
will rise to £200. This includes lunch and refreshments throughout
the conference, and one ticket to the Public Lecture.

Registration ends on the 31st May 2010.
